Installation

You have chosen hardwood floors for your home...excellent choice! Installing hardwood flooring is a form of art and requires great attention to detail. A solid hardwood floor will provide decades of durable service and resilience. Understanding the process thoroughly, the experts at Acme Hardwood Flooring guarantee a beautiful, precise, & efficient installation.

Sand & Finish

Are your wood floors starting to look drab and dull? Have they lost their original sheen? To keep them looking brand new, it's recommended your hardwoods be sanded and refinished every 5-8 years. Sanding and refinishing revitalizes the character of your home. We restore your old, damaged floor efficiently and we do not leave dirt and dust in your newly polished floors. Using our know-how and experience, Acme Hardwood Flooring will advise you regarding the proper stains and finishes that will bring out your floors natural beauty.

Repair

It is common over the years for hardwood floors to show small splits or cracks in the surface of the wood, particularly in high traffic areas. The occasional dent, ding, or water stain can also occur.  In some of these cases, a complete sand and refinish is not necessary. We will assess your flooring situation and offer a plan that will not only provide you peace-of-mind, but a brand new looking floor that shows no sign of previous damage.

What type of hardwood flooring should you choose?

There are a lot of reasons to love hardwood floors.  Not only are they beautiful, but are also easy to clean, and hypoallergenic. Hardwood floors will increase the value of your home, and because they usually represent a significant investment, you'll want to choose wisely. Options today include dozens of styles & sizes, but there are two basic categories: Traditional solid wood and Engineered wood. Solid wood is exactly what you would expect, each floorboard is milled from a solid piece of wood such as White Oak, Red Oak, Maple, Cherry etc.  Engineered wood is made of three or more sheets of wood that are laminated together to form a single plank. Ultimately, your hardwood choice is going to be determined by where you're planning on installing the product and what you are looking for in terms of design aesthetics.
